The Tactics skill is focused on identifying types of combatants and environments and being able to take advantage of their opportunities and vulnerabilities. This skill covers the two distinct categories of 'Animate beings' and 'Environments', the bonuses and abilities this skill provides are only usable when the correct type of memorized sub-type of being or environment is in range.

Much like how the Warfare skill uses Proficiencies to determine what sub-types benefit from this skill, Tactics relies on 'Memorized' creatures and environments. The Adventurer can memorize many creatures and environments at once.

Perk Name Requirements Effect
Upon reaching Rank 1: the following Perk(s) are automatically applied:
Tactical Study Automatic

The Adventure begins their Tactical training by memorizing at least one creature type and environment:

♦ The Adventurer gains 1 Memorization from the Creature or Environment categories.
♦ At each Skill-Rank beyond 1st, the Adventurer may select another Creature or Environment sub-type to add to their list of memorizations.
Hunter Automatic: must have at least one Creature sub-type memorized

The Adventurer gains some base advantages when confronting creatures they have memorized:

♦ The Adventurer gains a +10 bonus to Academics and Deduction checks per Tactics Skill-Rank for all memorized creature sub-types.
♦ The Adventurer also gains a +15 bonus to ToHit and Defence when attacking or being attacked by those sub-types.
Pathfinder Automatic: must have at least one Environment type memorized

The Adventurer gains some base advantages when navigating through certain types of environments:

♦ The Adventurer gains a +10 bonus to Academics, Deduction, Acrobatics and Athletics checks per Tactics Skill-Rank for all memorized environmental sub-types.
Each Skill-Rank beyond 1st grants a new Skill-Perk that can be enhanced by the Tactics skill.
Strategic Memory -

The Adventurer can now take advantage of the knowledge they learned beforehand into account:

♦ The Adventurer is granted a number of additional Memorizations based on their Intelligence attribute score.

♦ The maximum number of Memorizations granted by this perk is capped to the Tactics Skill-Rank. (Max. 5 Memorizations at +5 Intelligence).
Hunter's Lethality Hunter

The Adventurer can start dealing extra damage against creatures they have studied:

♦ The Adventurer now deals +1 Direct damage and Spread against memorized targets for every Tactics Skill-Rank they own.
♦ They also gain an additional +5 ToHit against memorized targets for every 10 Tactics Skill-Rating they own.
Hunter's Aegis Hunter
♦ The Adventurer gains +1 Damage-Reduction per Tactics Skill-Rank from attacks dealt by memorized creature sub-types.
♦ This Damage-Reduction does not scale with Size-Rating.

♦ The Adventurer also gains an additional +5 Defence per Tactics Skill-Rank from attacks dealt by memorized creature sub-types.
Pathfinder's Integrity Pathfinder

The Adventurer is able to better survive against the dangers of certain environments:

♦ The Adventurer gains a +20 Skill-Rating bonus to Integrity checks called from hazards from environments they have memorized.
