Dr. Spectra, The Fighting Pokémon Researcher
Doctor Miriam Spectra is a Researcher who specialises in Engineering, unlike most researchers she partakes missions to study and battle as a Pokémon Trainer. A specialist in Technical Machines and Genetics, she wishes to document all known moves into TMs and help cure Pokemon from Elemental Hypersensitivity. She carries a team of primarily Fighting-Type Pokémon, juxtaposing her scientific background, but her Pokémon were adopted after their original trainer, and her lover, died n a tragic accident.
Experiments and Studies
Elemental Hypersensitivity and the EH-Treatment
Dr. Spectra discovered a psycho-physiological reaction when Pokémon were exposed to specific stimuli, she found that many Pokémon suffer from a type of allergic reaction called 'Elemental Hypersensitivity', the pokémon's body attempting to protect itself from type weaknesses but ends up stressing the creature mentally and physically, resulting in premature fainting. Using her Pokémon as a basis, she was able to identify the key triggers in this response and created a machine in order to treat the condition.
The Treatment was a success, though the treatment did not remove the Pokémon's weaknesses, she observed a 25% decrease in vitality loss when exposed to super-effective moves, changing the multiplier from 2.0x to 1.5x. In addition: Pokémon with dual-typing were no longer doubly-affected by double-effective moves, as an Onix was observed to sustain only 1.5x damage from a Super-effective Water move instead of 2.0x or 4.0x. Lastly the treatment prevented pokemon from being weak to their own type, as such, her own Macross (Fighting/Steel) was still super affected by Fire and Ground moves but was no longer weak to Fighting moves.
Technical Machines and Pokémon Move Mnemonics
Mystery Candy and the Unexpected Side-effect
Dr. Spectra studied the effects of performance-enhancing nutrients to her pokémon, spending months catching pokémon to acquire specific 'Candy' for genetic and chemical analysis. In this time she was able to compile a good sample size to determine the smallest and largest pokémon in the wild as well as a means to producing special candies known as 'Mystery Candy'. A single gumball-sized does could accelerate a single Pokémon's growth potential, observed to be +1000 extra experience, per level, in addition to normal experience gains (1:1). It also increases the pokémon's combat stats overnight, increasing all stats by a minimum of 4 Awakening values (AV), 48 AVs in all. Though the candies could only be produced in small amounts per day, they could be all consumed in on sitting, though the more that was consumed the more pronounced the changes.
Physical growth in the Pokémon was observed within hours of the initial dose, a single candy increasing its overall size; height and weight, over the course of several hours. The pokemon's personality and behaviors remains the same despite the increased size bestowed to them. The Mystery Candy was capable of inducing Gigantism in Pokémon with little to no ill effects.
Dr. Spectra's Pokémon
The majority of Dr. Spectra's team are Fighting Types, except for Kurrage who is Fighting/Normal and Mekoidies which is Psychic. All the pokémon have undergone the 'Elemental Hypersensitivity Treatment', minimising the impact of Super-Effective weaknesses. Additional genetic alterations have given to new forms including Mega and Alternate Evolutions not found in the wild. Though she and the other pokemon are on good terms, she is not the original trainer who caught them, thus there has been difficulty in coordinating battles without the assistance of her Abra, Mekoides.
Macross (Machoke/Macross)
Mac used to be Dr. Spectra's Lover's starter Pokémon, it evolved into a Machoke by the time she came to inherit the creature into her team. In an effort to create a machine to allow one to evolve a Trade-Evolution Pokémon without the need of another trainer, a Metal-Coat item was mixed in with Mac during the teleportation sequence. Resulting in an all-new Evolution she would call Macross. As a Fighting/Steel type, Mac is not weak to any of the conditions that normally affect Fighting Pokémon such as Flying, Psychic and Fairy moves. However it acquired new weaknesses in the form of Fire, Ground and Fighting. Dr. Spectra vowed to find a way to ease these problems, resulting in the Elemental Hypersensitvity Treatment, Mac would no longer be weak to Fighting moves and would take less damage from Fire and Ground.
Mac is a Naive natured Macross who enjoys Sweet food but dislikes Bitter food.

- Heavy Slam
This Steel move has an effective base power of 60, however this can be as high as 180 depending on how much heavier Mac is to his opponent. Because of his Maximized form, a majority of non-giant pokémon will always be light enough in comparison to register as 180 power when this move is used.
- Revenge Counter Z
Mac braces itself for impact while readying a powerful counterattack. This Fighting move reduces incoming damage by half for one turn, if the foe attacks the user during this move: the following attack has an effective power of with an effective power of 240 (180 base) plus double the damage the user took during that turn. If the foe did not attack during this move, the resulting attack is only has a power of 150.

- Ability: Battle Armor
The user is immune to critical hits, even if such moves always critically hit when used.
Kaush (Primeape)
Kaush is a curious and affectionate Primeape with a tendency to invade other people and Pokémon's personal spaces. He used to be much more agitated due to being the smallest of the team, however when Dr. Spectra exposed him to the MAXIMIZE experiment, the giant Primeape demeanor became more relaxed. It was observed that it was intimidated by people and pokémon bigger than itself, causing it to act out as a defense mechanism, now that Kaush is larger than most people and pokémon, it is more inclined to socialise than it did before. It greatly enjoys being pet, especially for belly rubs; however if one were to tug on its fur too hard it may have a tantrum. Kaush's opinion on becoming a Giant pokémon is quiet energetic, enjoying itself when it benefits him and becoming frustrated when it hinders him.

Kaush is so energetic that it cannot fall asleep, even when moves induce it.
K.P. (Hitmonlee)
K.P. is a Naughty-Natured Hitmonlee who enjoys using the extendable nature of his limbs to play jokes on others or show how tall he is. It wasn't until he took part in Dr. Spectra's experiments that K.P. was subject to 'MAXIMIZE', turning him into a 16ft tall giant Pokémon. His arms now possessed the strength and springiness his legs possessed, able to stretch them to incredible lengths while maintaining a good degree of leverage and impact.
K.P. enjoys the extra height 'MAXIMIZE' gave him, he can tower over other people and pokémon with ease. And should a larger pokémon appear, he can elevate himself further to level the field with his long legs. He likes training with Kaush the Primeape and Spicy Food but dislikes being shorter than other Pokémon and Bitter Food.

A Normal move with a power of 40, if K.P is starting a battle, he can inflict damage and make the foe flinch 100% of the time, it has increased priority too to ensure it beats out even other fast pokémon with less priority.
- Ability: Maximized
K.P.'s HP is doubled. Super Effective moves only deal 1.5x damage and cannot stack. Can learn up to 8 moves. Base stats raised to 670. K.P's arms have evolved to gain the same strength and elasticity as his legs, improving his punching and grabbing prowess.
- Ability: Elongate
Dr. Spectra's Hitmonlee's Evasion increases by one stage for each turn it is out in battle, before it attacks. Kix's arms and legs grow more elongates as the battle continues, making avoiding attacks easier as it can reposition with greater distance.
Toru (Hariyama)
Toru is a Hariyama with a Relaxed nature. it enjoys friendly spars with other pokémon. However after being exposed to the MAXIMIZE experiment, Toru has been having difficulty finding worthy opponents, with his size and power increased to dwarf most other Pokémon. At 18ft tall, Toru is the largest of the Maximized Pokémon and the widest, having the highest defense potential of the group.

If a group is already at +6 stages, that group will not be chosen the next time this move is used. Toru can specify which group of stats is raised: Attack + SP.Attack, Defense + SP.Defense or Speed + Accuracy + Evasion. This move also heals the target by 1/5th its maximum HP. When Toru uses this move on himself, he gains 130HP.

Mekoides (Abra)
A quiet but unusually large Abra that can be often found by Dr. Spectra's side. It hangs in the backline while it's burlier team-mates do the heavy lifting. Mekoides was the first Pokémon that Dr. Spectra legitimately caught after it presented itself to the grieving Doctor. Despite being rare and hard to catch, it neither teleported to safety or resisted capture. This pokemon was able to convince her lover's pokemon to obey Dr. Spectra's orders with telepathy which the other Pokémon responded to warmly. Mekoides was one of the first Pokémon to undergo the effects of Mystery Candy and have its sized increased along with its overall power, in order to test the limits of the Candy's effect it consumed them until it fully awakened, and became a Giant Pokémon. Though it suffers the usual problems of being overlarge, its innate ability to Teleport helps it pass through gaps too small for its body to fit.
Despite its size and passiveness, Dr. Spectra and Mekoides have a bond that extends to the other pokémon, as though guided by a wiser force in the guiding of pokemon in battle. It has Partner Assist which can give Dr. Spectra and the other Pokémon useful benefits in battle: Once per battle, Mekoides can use Lightscreen or Reflect, even if they are not the active pokemon and still allow her active pokemon to use a move.
