Norrnmer Brilltir

Norrn is a 35 year old Firbolg blessed with Stone Whispering and Macrogenesis. He is one of the Patron Lords of Scratby, the other being his "brother" Aelron. He has been a boon to the economy, using his natural skill with stone to create an almost endless supply mined valuables. He does do some stone cutting, but mostly brings in cheap supplies. His initial caverns have carved Scratby's landscape, and even serve a home to the giant.

Past

Norrnmer was born to a well off family. They were smart and capable leaders of the community. His birth was remarkable simply due to size; being a firbolg was he was expected to grow to 10 ft tall, but he was much larger than expected. His parents always talked about what a boon it would be to have a giant in the family, and he only hoped he could fulfill their expectations. Getting average marks in school he always wished he could do better for their sake, but would never make the effort.

Puberty was awkward for Norn, all eyes were on him as his growth spurt went from spectacular to miraculous. People he never met were stopping him to congratulate him, there were others suddenly asked his opinions and membership into school clubs. He had reached a celebrity status what seemed over night and was getting lost in his own size. One day at 20 ft tall he had found he had simply destroyed his bed in his sleep and some of his desk. He stood up and hit the ceiling. In a fit he threw out his hands and broke down some of his parents house.

After he had cleared his head and assured his parents and the onlookers he was fine, he sat down and quietly started to piece the building back together. It was easy for him, the stone lite and he could mend it by will. He fixed it, and several other problems with the property. He enjoyed the solitude of being left to build, and using his gifts to create something. When he finished He didn't even want to go inside, he simply wanted to build more. Soon, with his parents permission, he set off outside of town to the quarry and began to help out. Within time he had pretty much replaced all the workers needed for the quarry.

Relationships

Growing up with his parents, Norrnmer had always felt the pressure to succeed. To valiantly achieve. To win. But after years of trying he figured out that wasn't his path. His family shared close ties with Aelron's and through his childhood he spent much time with the Giant elf. Almost brothers, the two are confidants for each other. Once he had grown into full fledged giant they were even more inseparable. The one thing he could not confide in was his mysterious stone powers.

He spent much time with the druids of the nearby woods trying to figure out his connection to the stone. The druids taught him what they could, but it never seemed to work the same. He could feel what they they needed him to feel, but had no knack for working with it. Eventually he stifled till one faithful day he marched through a portion of the wood throwing a fit, and several trees after a teenage tantrum. It was then he met his first friend and mentor Trillian Oakthorn. The little druid charged him with repairing the damage he had done, with the added suffering of lessons on meditation. Through their work Norrnmer had progressed much more both as a person and as a stone shape.

Personality

Norrnmer is not the best with social situations. He can tend to get the wrong read of a room, and will often times blurt what he his thinking out. This happens especially if he is excited. He is fairly easy going and will usually yield if anyone needs anything, or he feels he has had a misstep. He is curious and would like to try things out, but is overly cautious about breaking things. He tends to pick up most non-giants, as he is worried they would prefer to be closer to the action. He, in general, wants to do good.

Abilities

  • He is a giant which already does a lot.
  • He had been born with two natural affinities for stone. First, and most notable, was his divine sense of the rocks. As an oracle his vessel was chosen to wield the power of the stone, and shape its influence on this world. Second to that he had the the unique ability to push and pull the rocks as if they were one with his body. The Earth kineticist line in his family was shared through his mother, who taught him some of the ways of the stone fist.
  • Through the martial abilities he can move and throw stone as if it were part of his body. It will lift and strike as easily as he would lift his arm. He never trained too far into this practice. He mostly has the ability to move rocks and strike with them as blunt objects.
  • As a divine anomaly, his work in understanding his role as a Stone Oracle has taken most of his focus. He listens to the rocks and acts accordingly. He can glide into the earth as if water and emerge again leaving no trace or tunnel at will. He can also see through stone and very thin metals.
